I don’t even do Judo, never had any judo training, the only thing i know
about judo is from videos and a books. As soon as you said lean back and i
saw the position you were in i knew it was wrong, after reading a few
comments i’m sure it was wrong

your judo is very weak!!!! horrible technique!!!!! learn how to pronounce
    o-soto-gari!!!!

  5. rio sasongko says:

Why leaned back like that? You will get thrown first

  6. matsujisama says:

this is a dangerously bad instructional for osoto gari.

  7. FreeGumFighter says:

lol! leaning back before hooking his leg is definitely not a good idea!
that’s when the opponent just needs to press you down to take you down.

Unless someone has an incredibly strong base or is really quick. Anyone
with a brain that feels his opponent lean back is going to immediately just
press down. I’ve done Judo and Jujitsu before and yes this throw is really
basic. But never in my training was i ever told to “lean back”, this is
also for self defense purposes, not just sport take downs.

Wait is this serious? Ive done judo for 3 years and you definitely DO NOT
lean back before you go through with this throw. It puts you off balance
and will more than likely get you planted firmly on your back.

Instead the focus should be using your opponent’s weight and missteps
against him/her, not using pure strength to sweep a leg out. This video
will cause more harm than good if individuals with little judo experience
    attempt to follow its instructions.

your videos/ tutorials are freaking great

You should get the other person out of balance, not yourself! Don’t lean
back dude, just get the other person to lean back on the leg you want to
    attack with o soto.

  16. bearmanguy says:

on the variation throw, why wouldn’t you go to a north south position? it
looks like it would be easier, and a shorter transition as opposed to
throwing both legs over and attempting side control

  17. kylsters says:

Could you do a flying arm-bar lesson
