Drilling is essential; motor-skills (i.e., automatic non-cognitive action) is the essence of good technique. MMA gyms, in my experience, need to drill more and spar less.

His style is awesome. Embrace the grind 101 by John Fitch. Love his aproach to fighting. Up in your face from bell to bell.

You say it’s ok to be proud of a country but Brown isn’t a country. Shouldn’t it be wrong since he doesn’t have Mexican Pride? While I agree that White Pride has racial undertones, Brown Pride should have those same undertones. It’s a terrible double standard.

  4. 84bobert says:

    hopefully he fights early 2013

As I said to a previous poster, I’m sure there’s some truth to what you’re saying, but I can’t help but think that I would be much more inclined to accept your contention that “brown pride” is purely benign if I didn’t know something of the brown supremacist ideology and racist activities of one of Mexican-America’s most prominent groups, MEChA, on college campuses across the country, likewise for what may be the most prominent, La Raza (The Race).

The difference is what Brown Pride stands for and what White Pride has historically stood for. As other people have said, having pride in a European country, German Pride, Irish Pride, any of that is not controversial. But White Pride means hate and racial superiority (which has been proven wrong endlessly). Brown Pride is different, its not a suggestion of Brown being better, but Brown being something one shouldn’t have to hide. People who claim it should have respect for themselves.

False Equivalency. Here in NYC I’ve gone to the Gay Pride Parade, St. Patricks (Irish) Day Parade, Feast of San Genarro (Italians), Puerto Rican Day Parade, West Indian Day Parade. Compare Mr. Velasquez’s Brown Pride tattoo to the above cultural/social/ethnic expressions. Words do have a cultural, historical, & factual context. If Krzysztof Sosynski (A fair skinned African Hominid born in Western Eurasia) tattooed “Polish Pride” on his chest, I wouldn’t have issues with it either.

  13. TheRageGhost says:

cain’s tattoo really translates to “mexican pride” think a little bit harder and you will get it. dana and cain recently talked about the issue. just reaserch it

Number 1 i feel like a fucking idiot because Cain looked amazing fighting JDS. One of the most dominate performances i have ever seen, especially fighting a KO monster and i thought he was going to get ktfo. Duffee looked good i hope we can get some more out of him. As far as Fitch, if he keeps fighting the way he did against erik silva he will def be in the mix again

I’m just saying… maybe he does gambling or something but in U.S you can buy a nice house froma nice place with 200-300G now he has been on the news that he needs money to feed his family :S have you seen koscheck’s house? dude looks like a millionaire. So I’m saying maybe he should handle his money better so if he lets say fucks his back in training and can’t fight anymore his family won’t go broke. all just seems odd to me…

  16. crazyjake29 says:

haha yeh, its pathetic. It easy to hate on them for having money though

  17. TheBaxter97 says:

Why should anybody give a shit? If it were a “white pride” tattoo it would be national headline news (ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, etc.) A media firestorm! The bleepin’ president would have to make a statement for fuck sake. That’s why, and needless to say the fighter concerned would no longer be fighting for the UFC. It’s about fairness. Clear things up any?

  18. FalloutBahis says:

his family needs 3new cars and 6house… I don’t get it at all… this is like metallica crying that they lose money with piracy so they can’t buy a little island next to their 8 other islands they own.

  19. crazyjake29 says:

he obviously lives a different lifestyle to you and your family. He needs money to maintain it the same way everyone else does

    Garbage n boring

  21. deathsquadreggae562 says:

Looks like the comment is gone.

  22. deathsquadreggae562 says:

And btw, calling people “idiots” and coming off agressively doesn’t help in getting people to hear you out.

  23. deathsquadreggae562 says:

Why do you give a shit about a “brown pride” tattoo? You really shouldn’t. Fuck off, live your life, and be happy with it!

If you’re proud to be who you are then be so, as long as you aren’t hurting anyone.

  24. FalloutBahis says:

    “family”
